I walk a lonely road
The only one I that have ever known
Don't know were it goes
But its home and I walk alone
(Green Day)
The only one I that have ever known
Don't know were it goes
But its home and I walk alone
(Green Day)
Now come to find out this song isn't one I recommend, but I got to thinking about it. Been learning some things about what makes and breaks community, and basically how much we need each other in the Body of Christ. This song totally exposes our culture's mindset of independence and isolation. We're told to shut ourselves off, not to listen to anything but our heart and to keep people on the outside. Where does it take us? We get our freedom, but at the price of denying our natural need for community. Where would we be if it weren't for the people God places in our lives?
