If you are in the mood to read a random poem, check out "The Walrus and the Carpenter" by Lewis Carroll. I'm not an Alice in Wonderland fan, but I do enjoy this part.
So! it's been a while, has it not? Who knows if anybody out there checks this blog. It is nice to have an outlet for my occasional soap box or writing inspiration. Thankfully I don't need to update the world about my life, since the people who check this already know me.
My most recent temptation to get on a soap box was when I looked around town and realized how many churches are omitting Christ and clear denominational words. Now, before somebody comes after me - I'm not against denominations or specific churches. But I was saddened to see that "Community" "Family" and "Fellowship" are beginning to overshadow clearly Christian terms such as "Christ" (oh, yeah...).
In case I've not talked with all of you about my family leaving for Canada: I'm really excited for them and am in no way angry about the fact they are moving up there while I stay here. I will miss them a whole bunch, and in more than one way. You can be praying that I continue to have God's perspective and peace. I'm looking forward to a WHITE Christmas in Canada this year when I, Lord willing, visit.
What not to give as gifts to people in my department: rubber bands (they have enough ammo already) and gel pens (the bane of scanned documents). Just in case you were wondering ;)
It's been a challenging week. But I'm glad to see the Lord's grace and hand in all the things I've been juggling. Whether it's training two or three people, answering phone calls, directing the general work-flow or leading a Bible study the Lord gave grace.
I currently have an orchid and a pansy I am keeping at home. I'm not exactly a green thumb. So far they're doing great and it's nice to have some flowers around. I miss having a garden, but I wouldn't dream of having one here unless it were a raised bed. Otherwise the clay would win the claim jumper's war.
