"I'd like to thank all my fans..."

So said Uncle K. at GFA earlier today. I kinda feel that way - like I have a fan club that won't be satisfied with a post or two a week (hehe - just kidding, you guys are great).
#1 Random Email of the Week was by and large the one announcing the executive decision to allow office staff to wear jeans on Fridays. I think it took a few re-readings of the email for it to sink in. Talk about revolutionary! I hear tell a few years ago even the mail room staff had to wear ties. Needless to say, expectations were high as we all gathered for Friday morning prayer. The majority of the staff were wearing jeans... leadership on down. I was encouraged to see that shirt selection was still in good taste...well within normal office attire.
Speaking of taste, this week was also a week of new experiences. Wednesday a group of us decided to skip nacho day and go out for lunch. It was my first introduction to Vietnamese food, and it was memorable. A mix of mild and favorable vegetables along with some shrimp was my choice. They gave us a ton of food! I could see why. Ya have to eat a lot of veggies and rice for it to "stick" with ya. Thursday I went to lunch with a coworker for my birthday. Went to Cafe Brazil. I enjoyed the time - although the atmosphere was different from what I was expecting. I'd like to go back there for coffee and dessert. They specialize in breakfast- but I don't think I'll want to get up early enough on Saturday to go do that.
