Warfare
Reading what Dorinda's post said about the battles a lot of us are finding ourselves in, I envision soliders hunkered down in a ditch, gripping their helmets tight. I'm in the same place as many others at the ministry - getting plenty of practice taking each thought and comparing it to God's Word, rather than the emotion of the moment. "Past issues" mentioned in her post also caught my attention. I'm finding memories stirred up from my past that were long forgotten... mostly negative. At one point last week I asked a couple people to pray for me. They encouraged me to realize that the battle is on many fronts and touching many different lives. It brought a sense of relief and a "we're in this together" mindset. When you're getting hit while you're down, beginning to believe that you're the only one getting picked on it's easy to give up. But when it's a whole group of you, it brings a sense of unity and also the motivation to keep pressing forward... and to keep an eye on the others around you to in order to help them make it too.
